Nursery
Maximum cost: $125 per student
Pre-K - 4th Grade
Maximum cost: $275 for the first student, $200 for additional
Bible: Students learn the beauty of hiding God’s word in their hearts as they work to memorize 26 scriptures over the course of the school year.
Public Speaking: Students will have the opportunity to hone this important skill from a young age as they prepare a short presentation each week on an assigned topic while working on public speaking skills like eye contact, projection, gestures, visual aids, etc.
Memory work: We will be using Claritas Publishing, which provides a Classical, Christ-Centered, and Comprehensive time where we will seek to cultivate wisdom and virtue by nourishing the child’s soul on truth, goodness, and beauty so that, in Christ, the student is enabled to better know, glorify, and enjoy God. Our Memory Work aligns with four historical cycles and consists of Scripture, Latin, English Grammar, Math, Science, History, Geography, Timeline, and Hymns. We will be utilizing cycle 2: The Middle Ages for the 2024/25 school year.
Art: Students will learn about the elements of art and design as well as study the artwork of masters from American history as they create art projects each week.
Music: during our chapel time each week, students will learn hymns that coincide with the Claritas memory work curriculum.
Science: Students will dig deeper into their cycle 3 science memory work with activities that cover topics such as the scientific method, states of matter, atoms, element symbols, chemical reactions, important scientists, and much more! Students will also create their own science notebooks with pages to “Sketch, Narrate, Write, and Draw.”
Free Play & Rest: This is an optional, structured time of rest and free play in the time block after lunch. Experience has taught us that these younger students thrive best with this schedule. Time for rest and play allows them to learn the important skill of quieting themselves and also gives them room for the valuable experience of free play with other children and outdoor time set within a structured block of time.
Electives (optional): Electives are how we culminate the Community day at Veritas. This is a time of parent-led learning with an emphasis on learning a skill or participating in an event that is both fun and engaging for the group. Some examples of electives from last year include: drawing, cooking, theater, volleyball, etiquette and community service projects. Cost is determined by the parent/teacher leading the elective and paid directly to him/her.
4th - 6th grade

Pre-requisite: students in these 4-6th grade classes need to be reading at an ‘end of year’ (EOY) third grade reading level. Please look closely at the curriculums we will be using and the sample lessons when determining the right class schedule for your children. If you are unsure and need help determining this, please reach out to us and we will be happy to assist you.
Bible: Students will be studying truth. What is truth, how do we know it's true? We have utilized the wonderful study, “Forged: Faith Refined” for preteens.
Public Speaking: Students will have the opportunity to hone this important skill from a young age as they prepare a short presentation each week on an assigned topic while working on public speaking skills like eye contact, projection, gestures, visual aids, etc.
Grammar/Writing: Using Fix It! Grammar and the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) curriculum, students will improve their knowledge of the parts of speech while learning to write with structure and style. This theme-based writing curriculum helps students learn to take notes, retell narrative stories, summarize references, write from pictures, compose essays, and much more.
Science: Utilizing Apologia Chemistry/Physics Elementary curriculum and the accompanying Junior Notebooking Journal students will enjoy this elementary-level Science course that points students to God as they discover what makes Earth special and capable of sustaining life.
American History: Utilizing Notgrass’ America the Beautiful curriculum, students will be guided chronologically through the history of the United States, highlighting key events, people, and places. Class projects and assignments will accompany this class.

Bible - Free: Students are led through a book of the Bible, helping the students learn to study scripture. A mom or dad with a heart for expository teaching leads this class (boys and girls are separate at this age).
General Science - $75 (includes science fair): Using Apologia General Science curriculum, t his course is designed to provide a transition from elementary to middle school sciences and will give students an understanding of the world that surrounds them so they can appreciate the real-world relevance of scientific inquiry and the beauty of Creation. This course will include science labs to be completed in class . The students will also participate in a community science fair where they will compete against each other while learning the scientific method in testing a hypothesis.
American History 1 or 2 (rotates every other year) - $60: In this class, students will utilize Notgrass American History by Charlene Notgrass (this curriculum can count toward high school credit) as they dive into history, geography, and literature from the history of the U.S. beginning with life in America before Europeans came and continuing through the first years after the Civil War . Daily lessons will guide students chronologically through American history, highlighting key events, people, and places. This includes textbook material as well as numerous original documents, speeches, poems, stories, and hymns from American history.
Exposition - $90: Students will use the Lost Tools of Writing curriculum to begin learning persuasive writing. This style of writing will be taught in 7th through 9th grade. Students will learn how to identify and express their message clearly and vividly. This important skill will help students to succeed in college if that is their path, and it will also help them develop cognitive habits related to decision making, and communication with friends and foes alike. This is a skill that will transfer to debate, public speaking, law, medicine, or ministry. The foundation for the essays they will write are novels that are rich in language, history and critical thinking. 7th grade novels -TBD
Debate/Mock Trial (offered to 7-11th grade) - $50: Semester one the students will begin learning the form and structure of a formal debate. They will have a chance to compete in debates strengthening their public speaking and argumentation skills. Semester 2 the students will have the unique opportunity to begin understanding the rules and vocabulary of the American judicial system . This semester will culminate in a mock trial where they will prepare legal arguments for both the prosecution and the defense of a selected case and argue their cases in front of a judge and jury.
HIGHSCHOOL LEVEL COURSES: While we understand that not all students will be college bound, our classes are geared toward preparing students to enter college with the skills necessary for success. Younger students (7-8th grades) are welcome to move up and take these classes.
9th-10th Grade

This includes textbook material as well as numerous original documents, speeches, poems, stories, and hymns from American history.
American Lit and Exposition in Writing- $90: Students will use the Lost Tools of Writing curriculum to continue learning persuasive writing. Government (semester 1) - $30: In this one-semester course for high school students will explore the government of the United States from its beginning to the present with special emphasis on the Biblical pattern for government & on the U.S. Constitution. They will learn about the operations of federal, state, & local government, & about issues facing our nation today. This will help equip them to understand, pray for, & be involved in our country’s leadership. If the students chose they can participate, at a separate cost, in Teen Pact. Economics (semester 2) - $30: Students will use the Notgrass curriculum, Exploring Economics , in this half-year course that is centered on God's Word & helps equip your student to better understand what economics is and how it affects our lives. This class participates in a cost of living project and a stock market project.
Biology with labs - $150: Students will enjoy learning biology through the lens of a Christian worldview with a strong emphasis on vocabulary and experiments and dissections. This is a foundational course that covers everything students need to prepare successfully for a college-level biology course.

Physics - $100: Physics introduces students to the principles of physics through a biblical worldview. This engaging program blends scientific concepts with real-world applications, emphasizing design, purpose, and the Creator’s role in the laws of nature. It provides hands-on activities, critical thinking exercises, and an excellent foundation in the science of physics. Requires geometry and knowledge of sine, cosine, and tangent. It provides a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general physics. Heavily emphasizing vector analysis, this text is ideal preparation for a university-level physics course. It provides the student with a strong background in one-dimensional and two-dimensional motion, Newton's laws and their application, gravity, work and energy, momentum, periodic motion, waves, optics, electrostatics, electrodynamics, electrical circuits, and magnetism.
Worldview Literature and Exposition in Writing - $75: Taking a dive into authors like C.S. Lewis, Francis Shaeffer, Tolkien, Douglas Wilson, Sproul, and others the students will read and have in depth conversations about the worldview these pieces represent. They will take the ideas and write persuasive and comparison essays on the works. They will be asked to dig into the Word and try to decipher the ideas and ideals in each piece utilizing the tools they’ve learned from their previous writing education. They will also memorize poetry (earning 0.5 credits) and parse sentences weekly.
CLEP - (College Level Examination Program) (American History 1 and 2, Government, Algebra 1) - Maximum Cost: $50 per student: Students will go through the CLEP prep program offered by ModernStates.org with the guidance of the instructor and motivation from classmates to prepare them to take the above CLEP exams. CLEP testing fees and test scheduling will be the responsibility of the parent/student upon receiving instructions from the teacher.
